With the encouragement of family, Pat has realized her dream of developing an EAL/EAP center to benefit the community of Lane County, Oregon.

Pat Walters

Founder and Executive Director

 Pat Walters has over 30 years teaching equine-assisted activities and holds certifications in: 

  • PATH International Therapeutic Riding Instructor 

  • Equine Specialist in Mental Health and Learning  

  • Equine Service for Heroes, (veterans)

  • Autism Movement Therapy,

  • Riders Biomechanical principles

  •  Centered Riding. 

  • Pat has enjoyed a variety of teaching over the past 30 years, everything from therapeutic riding, developing activities for sensory processing challenges,  to coaching an 'over 40' equestrian vaulting team and youth recreational vaulting.

Karrie Walters is a licensed psychologist in the state of Oregon and received her doctoral degree in counseling psychology in 2010 from the University of Oregon. She teaches across multiple departments in the College of Education, including Family and Human Services, Counseling Psychology and School Psychology. She has worked with children and families professionally for over 20 years in both educational and counseling environments. Karrie also holds a masters degree in special education and spent several years as an autism and behavioral consultant in the public schools. Karrie's professional interests include transgender and gender creative children and families, strength-based child and family interventions, effective undergraduate/graduate teaching modalities and engagement in community-based social justice.

Ann provides individual and couples counseling that promote healing, well-being, self-awareness and empowerment. Ann specializes in the treatment of anxiety, depression, addictions, relationship challenges, trauma, grief and loss. During sessions you will work to transform your life, creating peace and inner harmony. Ann treats each person, regardless of their background, trauma and story as if infinite possibilities are available to them.

Ann has a professional counseling practice at Alive Integrative Medicine where she collaborates with other professional healing practitioners to help clients reach their personal health and emotional wellness goals.
